Pinterest projects and the joy of hospitality.

Last weekend, my lovely friends Abby and Rebecca came to spend a weekend in Franklin/Nashville. This is probably nerdy, but I think I was just as excited about preparing my little guest room for them as I was about them actually coming.

There’s something about making people feel loved, accepted and welcomed that makes my heart so happy.

Maybe it’s because I’m still just so excited to have my own place to show off to visitors, or maybe the Lord has just given me the desire (and I hope, the ability) to show love to others through hospitality. Combine that desire with my general obsession with DIY-ing, and good things happen.

I made two of these lovely crate tables for less than $40 to put in my little guest room. They’re the perfect size, and I think they’re pretty quaint, if I do say so myself.

Before. Handy, but unfinished crates from one of my happy places, JoAnn.

A little wood stain + several hours of sitting on the floor of my patio with a Patsy Cline record on = exactly what I needed for that room. It’s a blessing how much joy I can have from something so simple. Thanks, Jesus, for crafting and the gift of hospitality.
